About Us

At Camo Duck, we believe that the outdoors has the power to heal.

Our mission is simple but profound: we take disabled veterans hunting so they can reconnect with nature, find camaraderie, and experience the therapeutic benefits of time spent outdoors. For many of these heroes, the trauma of service leaves invisible wounds. Our goal is to create an environment where veterans can heal in the company of others who understand — surrounded by the peace and challenge of the hunt.

We provide safe, guided hunting experiences tailored for veterans with disabilities. Whether it’s a first-time outing or a return to an activity they love, every Camo Duck experience is built around accessibility, respect, and genuine fellowship.

Our vision is a world where no disabled veteran feels isolated — where time spent outdoors fosters resilience, purpose, and lifelong bonds.

Through the generosity of our supporters, donors, and volunteers, Camo Duck ensures that cost, mobility, or circumstance never stand between a veteran and the healing power of the wild.

ABout the Founders

Camo Duck was founded by Alexis Ateca, an experienced executive in product development, and her fiancé, Ken Nati, a retired Senior Chief of the United States Navy.

Alexis was inspired to start Camo Duck after witnessing the profound impact that time outdoors — and hunting in particular — had on Ken’s well-being. She saw an opportunity to create something bigger: an organization dedicated to providing that same experience to other veterans, giving them the chance to reconnect with nature and community as part of their recovery from war.

Ken contributes his deep understanding of military life, the challenges veterans face after service, and a lifelong passion for the outdoors. Together, Alexis and Ken bring both heart and operational expertise to Camo Duck, ensuring that it’s a veteran-centered, professionally run organization built to deliver real impact.

Their shared commitment is to create a space where disabled veterans can heal, bond, and rediscover purpose — one hunt at a time.
